Keys Holiday Cottages is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain data by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

The Data Protection Principles

Anyone processing personal data must comply with the eight enforceable principles of good practice. They say that data must be:

  • Fairly and lawfully processed
  • Processed for limited purposes
  • Adequate, relevant and not excessive
  • Accurate
  • Not kept longer than necessary
  • Processed in accordance with the data subject's rights
  • Secure
  • Not transferred to countries without adequate protection.

Personal data covers both facts and opinions about the individual. It also includes information regarding the intentions of the data controller towards the individual, although in some limited circumstances exemptions will apply. The definition of processing is broad, and incorporates concepts such as ‘obtaining’, ‘holding’ and ‘disclosing’ personal data.

How your data is shared.

Where your consent has been provided in advance we may allow selected third parties to use your data to enable them to provide you with information regarding unrelated goods and services which we believe may interest you. Where such consent has been provided it can be withdrawn by you at any time.

Where your consent has been provided in advance we may allow selected third parties to use your data to enable them to provide you with support if needed with relation to any emergency which may arise during your stay; ie; repair/service engineers and cleaners, the owners or owners representative, plus emergency services. Where your consent has been provided in advance it can be withdrawn by you at any time although withdrawing it if a booking is still in progress will limit support and information which is needed for that booking.
